Hi guys,

Since the server move we have been suffering some pretty poor page load times. I've contacted the hosting company to see what can be done, but for now, I have moved the forums off separate from the joomla site. You may have to update your bookmarks. I have noticed that once your computer caches the site data, from the first load of each page, subsequent loads are pretty fast.

The chat bar is still there as well at the bottom of the forum pages.

I have decided to relaunch the site using drupal instead of Joomla. I will be working on it on the http://new.pbphud.com url, and when everything seems to be working, I will transfer it over to the main domain.

The template I am using here is also available for drupal so the look and feel won't change. I may leave the forums as a separate link as well, like it is right now, depending on what user feedback is like.

Drupal is a much faster CMS (content management system) than Joomla, and I think that's what we need here now.

Ok guys, I have done a couple of things so far.

First I have added some caching to the current Joomla site. Please let me know if this has improved your page loading times.

I have also separated the forums from being embedded in the Joomla site, which seems to have sped things up for me at least.

I also set up a drupal site at http://new.pbphud.com/ Please test it and let me know if it loads any faster. If it does I will probably port the site over to drupal completely, but I don't want to plop more resources into it if it isn't an improvement.

Please clear your Internet cache before doing these tests. I will also run some generic site tests as well and post the results. Time in your head each page load and let me know approx what each are, for the current site and forums and for the drupal site and forums.
